Alastair Morrison OBE MC
Chairman
Alastair's
illustrious career began in the military where he served in the Scots
Guards and as Equerry to HRH The Duke of Gloucester before joining the
SAS, serving as Troop and Squadron Commander before being appointed
Second in Command of 22 SAS. He was awarded the Military Cross during
the war in Dhofar, Oman and was also appointed OBE for his part in
the successful hostage rescue operation of passengers held on board
a Lufthansa aircraft at Mogadishu, Somalia in 1977. Following this
operation, on behalf of the British Government, Alastair helped to
set up counter-terrorist forces in 32 countries - including Delta
Force in the USA.
After leaving the Army, he formed Defence Systems Limited
in 1981, an early pioneer of specialist security services in
remote and hostile locations. He sold the company in 1997 to
Armor Holdings (which became ArmorGroup). Alastair has since been
involved in several other companies including Kroll Security
International, where he was Chairman until late 2006.
