Our trained and experienced MMOs help companies comply with international guidelines to minimise the effect of sound generated by offshore operations on these animals. They observe and identify protected species to accurately document their behaviour before, during and after interaction with seismic vessels. MMOs with Passive Acoustic Monitoring (PAM) experience can also be provided.

MMOs are trained in relevant worldwide legislation and regulations, the possible effects of seismic operations on marine mammals, monitoring methods, marine mammal physiology, vocalisations and behaviour, acoustic theory and passive acoustic monitoring.

All personnel have completed an MMO course approved by one of the regional regulatory bodies such as the UK Joint Nature Conservation Committee (JNCC), or the US Mineral Management Service (MMS).

Our MMOs have experience in working in all the key international waters and hold the appropriate medical and safety certification to work offshore. This includes BOSIET Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training, HUET Helicopter Underwater Egress Training and a valid medical certificate of fitness (UKOOA or similar).

Personnel of various nationalities and varying levels of experience can be provided depending on your requirements and we provide consultancy for clients that have not used MMOs before.
